WSJ.com: Company Research
INCEPTION
A major initiative to overhaul the Wall Street Journal
Online Briefing Books. This project sought both to redesign and
expand them. It launched in January and is one of the most comprehensive
sources of Company Research available on the web, offering 20+ pages
of information on over companies.
MY ROLE
I interacted with market data experts and editors to finalize
the site design. I was responsible for documenting all the functional
requirements and ensuring that the pages were developed to specification.
I acted as primary Information Architect in this role. In so doing,
I also facilitated communication between the various teams involved:
editorial, graphic design, interaction design, market data experts,
programmers, and BigCharts (the company responsible for developing
many of the financial charts).
Managing the process
As a component of documenting the site, I developed a web page centralizing
access to all relevant documents, graphics, etc. This page was a
posting location for new documents, revised documents, and update
status information.

These pages are best viewed at WSJ.com. They are accessed by
conducting a company query in the Quotes & Research search box
on any page of the online journal (only available to subscribers).
