COMPANY INFO
Columbia
DKV is a service unit of Columbia University. It is responsible
for developing and distributing digital resources that extend the
University's teaching and research beyond its classrooms and campuses.
Working independently or in conjunction with strategic partners,
Columbia DKV collaborates with faculty and researchers to build
learning resources and public interfaces that support the goals
of the University, its Schools, Departments, Centers, and Institutes.
Columbia DKV also created and maintains the web site Columbia
Interactive, a gateway to selected electronic learning resources
developed at the University.
The actual web sites are viewable after subscribing at Columbia
Interactive.
MY ROLE
Project Director,
Senior Information Architect,
and Medical Illustrator
• Directed the development of online e-seminars: Managed
cross-functional development team. Identified objectives, developed,
documented and ensured implementation of functional design architecture
and served as point-person to ensure that seminars were built to
specification.
• Spearheaded and directed two special projects: development of the first 508-compliant online course, and development of the first e-seminar to include a parallel version in Spanish.
• Managed and directed work flow: Worked with editorial and rights and research teams to ensure effective transmittal of content and asset-management for on-time production.
• Worked with team to developed strategy, architecture, content
and documentation for special projects such as the Columbia Interactive
promotional CD-ROM. (CD-ROM viewable in person.)
• Medical illustration: Storyboarded, illustrated and animated scientific and medical content and diagrams.
